All new students to Campbellsville University interested in becoming a member of the Tiger Marching Band need to fill out the TMB application.

Membership is open to all Campbellsville University Students regardless of academic major.

The requirements for wind players is one year of successful high school marching band participation (we will verify this with your high school band director).

We currently do not have a sideline percussion section so all percussionists will be placed somewhere in the marching drumline. Auditions will be held in May to determine your position in the drumline. See the drumline section page for more information.

Students wishing to participate in the color guard are required to have at least one year experience in marching band. Experience on weapons is not required but is strongly encouraged. Auditions for color guard will be held in May. Click the color guard section page for more information.

Band Camp

All members of the TMB must attend band camp. Band Camp for the TMB is one week in length, and usually runs the week prior to classes beginning.  Specific dates are announced later in the Spring Semester. Band members will be allowed to move into the dorm they have been assigned for the regular semester at this time. There is no charge for housing for band camp and all of the students meals are paid for in the cafeteria.

Band Scholarships

Members of the TMB are eligible to receive a band grant for their full participation in the marching band in the fall and the concert/pep band in the spring. The amount of this grant can range from $2,000- $4,000/year depending on variables which will be discussed upon receiving your TMB application.

Performances

In addition to performing at all home football games, the band performs at selected high school marching band exhibitions, community events and away football games. College football season for CU runs from late August through mid-November.

Rehearsals

The band rehearses approximately 7 - 8 hours per week during the football season.

The rehearsal schedule is 4:00-6:00p.m., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. There is occasionally a required sectional hour each week, and we rehearse on game/performance Saturdays prior to the performances.
