Tori Christgen is an interdisciplinary artist with a vibrant and ever-evolving practice and relationship with the arts. She graduated, summa cum laude, from Missouri Western State University with a B.F.A in Sculpture and M.F.A. in Studio Art at Maryland Institute College of Art. Christgen’s experience in the arts, spans over 25 years, including community art programs, theater set, and costume design, K-12, and higher education, as well as a full career as a professional artist. Christgen taught at MWSU, Saint Joseph, Missouri, as an Associate Professor of Art and is currently at Campbellsville University. She has been showcased in Better Homes and Gardens as well as extensively in group and solo exhibitions in galleries and museums, nationwide as well as aboard. Illustration clients include CVS Pharmacies. You may find her photographing The Rockies or strolling the canals of Amsterdam withdrawing students. Perhaps she’s in a Costa Rican jungle, studying the patterns of a giant boa for her next hand-printed fabric collection, or on a tropical beach, recording the sunrise. She might be designing a beautiful new mat, for her yoga students, or exploring her new home state of Kentucky, with new students, friends, and peers. Wherever you find her, she will be submerged in the community: creating and sharing her art. Her multidisciplinary approach to art-making and her zest for life combine to form passionate, vibrant works of art, that sit somewhere between fine art and street art, memory and dream. Creating not only documents her adventures but helps connect her friends, old and new.
