Mr. Troy Young is an Instructor of Mathematics. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 1989, and his master’s degree from Western Kentucky University in 1996. Mr. Young worked as a math teacher at Taylor County High School for 27 years and was a boys basketball coach there for 23 years. He has been part of the CU Faculty since 2016. Mr. Young has received several awards and honors in his career, including the Ashland Oil Teachers Who Make a Difference Award (2001), The Campbellsville/Taylor County Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year (2016), The 5th Region Athletic Director’s Hall of Fame (2018), and the Campbellsville University Servant Leadership Award (2019-2020). He has two adult children, and resides in Campbellsville with his wife Shelly.
