Josh Pickens graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a BA in studio art and The University of Arkansas with an MFA in printmaking. He is an interdisciplinary artist currently working with quilts and pottery. He has taught and exhibited his work in Arkansas, Texas, New York, Maryland, and Alabama, and his ceramics are a part of numerous private collections. In his spare time, he enjoys cross-country running, reading books that get to the point (sorry, Russia), and researching southern folk artists. He is especially interested in Charlie “The Tin Man” Lucas, Mary Jackson, The Gee’s Bend quilters, and George Ohr, “The Mad Potter of Biloxi.”
