Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Jason Garrett studied Theater Arts at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC before earning a Master of Arts in Cinema/Television from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA.  In 2008 he completed his Ph.D. in Communication from Regent University with a concentration in Cinema Studies.  He is the writer, producer, and director of several award-winning short films, and his feature film To Fly (2010) screened in film festivals across four continents.  Returning to his theatrical roots, Jason recently directed the musicals Into the Woods, Shrek: The Musical, and The Secret Garden for Campbellsville’s Town Hall Productions.  His current favorite film is Yasujiro Ozu’s Ohayo (Good Morning) (1959), which beautifully satirizes consumerism in postwar Japan through the story of two young boys who take a vow of silence in protest against their parents for not buying them a television set; it is pure bliss!
