Brett Pierce
Officially titled Assistant Sports Information Director / Photography, Brett Pierce was hired full-time in May 2019. As the primary photographer for CU athletics, Pierce will take photos at most Campbellsville home events and select road events. As a full-time staff member, he can now expand his photo coverage for those road events like championship events at NAIA, NCCAA and WCWA opportunities. He will also lead student interns learning photography and be the main contact for the track and field and cross country programs as the SID. Pierce has been able to capture championships moments for a couple of CU programs. Since 2017-18, he was able to photograph a women’s wrestling WCWA National Championship, softball Mid-South Conference Championship, two baseball Mid-South Conference Championships, as well as numerous individual track and field championships either in the Mid-South Conference or NCCAA. Along with in-game photos, he has also captured the images of special Campbellsville athletics events, coach/student-athlete headshots, and worked photo shoots of athletes that go into graphics for campbellsvilletigers.com and Tiger social media pages. Pierce was a four-year athlete on the cross country team as well as a runner track and field team for distance events. Combined between the two teams, Pierce accumulated a long list of accolades that included individual, team, and academic honors. Starting with the academic honors during his time as a student-athlete, he was an NAIA Scholar-Athlete during the 2014-15 academic year for both cross country and track and field as well as being on the Mid-South Conference All-Academic Team all four seasons of his career in each sport. On track or course, Brett has top times in CU history in some of the most grueling long distance running events. He still currently holds the school record in the Half Marathon for outdoor track and field with a 1:13:24 time and has the third-fastest time in the 8K for cross country at Campbellsville. As part of the Tigers’ cross country team, Pierce helped win the 2015 MSC Championship and was selected as an All-MSC First Team member in both 2013 and 2015. On the track and field side, he was a 2016 All-MSC First Team selection when he qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the Marathon. He was also a national qualifier in the NCCAA four times when he qualified for the 10,000-meter run in 2013, 2014, and 2015 as well as the 5,000-meter in 2013.
