CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Interested in learning about organs and pipes?

On Saturday, Oct. 9 at 9 a.m., there will be an Organ Tour in Ransdell Chapel with Dr. Wesley Roberts followed by a brief tour of the pipes in the organ loft.

The organ in Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel is an 1894 Farrand and Votey Organ, which is enlarged to 51 ranks by Moeller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies. Ransdell Chapel is located at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

Roberts is a professor of music, musicology and piano and organ.

At the university, his service includes the supervision of over 100 solo undergraduate and graduate piano and organ recitals and eight master's theses. He serves as the university's organist.

Roberts has done concerts as a pianist and organist throughout the United States, Europe and China. He has also served as a visiting professor at the French Piano Institute in Paris and at Shanghai Normal University.

Along with his wife, Sida, the two have jointly served in various church music positions over the years. His interest in music around the world has led him to organize concert tours across Kentucky for international artists from France, Holland, Denmark, England and China.

He has served additionally as president of three professional organizations, including the Kentucky Music Teachers Association, which granted him its 2005 Distinguished Service Award and 2012 Distinguished Teaching Award.

Roberts will also be performing on the historic organ at chapel as well.
