CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University is adding another 48 beds to the Men's Residence Village, which is set to open this fall adjacent to the current Men's Residence Village.

The 9,100-square-foot new residence village will also be more energy efficient including better insulated walls and roof areas, high efficiency HVAC equipment, programmable thermostats and high efficiency windows and water heaters.

There will also be water saving toilets, faucets and showerheads and compact fluorescent lighting.

Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, said CU's new housing option for men reflects the same design as several of the university's new housing additions.

The units are a “townhouse,” two-story style option where each individual unit houses six students.

There are three bedrooms with two students each, three bathrooms, a kitchenette area and a common, “living room” area.

Walters said the university's enrollment continues to grow each semester in resident student population as does the need for more housing.

“This addition expands our housing base and provides the opportunity for flexibility in assignments and gives our students more options,” Walters said.

He said, “This style of housing has continued to be very popular with our students. It creates a living experience with more space per student while also engaging the students in a community learning and living environment.”

James Dean, men's housing area coordinator at CU, said CU will have 1,046 beds on campus this fall.

The Men's Residence Village has 138, with the new one having 48 of those spots.
Campbellsville University has eight residence halls on campus with North, West, East, Broaday and the Men's Residence Villages for men with 574 beds.

There are 472 women's beds in Stapp Hall, Village Phase 1 and Village Phase 2.

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,500 students offering 63 undergraduate options, 17 master's degrees, five postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
