CU’s Chowning Art Shop ‘Art in the Park’ and Car Show to be July 13

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The annual Independence Day Car Show, sponsored by Campbellsville University and the Tri-County Car Club, and the Art in the Park at the Chowning Art Shop at CU is now scheduled for Saturday, July 13 at Campbellsville University because of rain on July 4.

Registration for the car show will begin at 8 a.m. and close at noon. The show is open to cars, trucks and motorcycles of all years, makes and models. It will be on the lawns of Montgomery Library and Stapp Hall.
The entry fee is $15.

Top 50 trophies will be awarded to cars and trucks 1988 and older. Top 25 trophies will be awarded to cars and trucks from 1989 to 2007. Top three trophies will be awarded to motorcycles.

There will also be special awards for Best of Show, Best Mopar, Best Chevy, Best Ford, Best B.O.P., Best Mustang, Best Interior, Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Motorcycle, Best Car or Truck 2008 and newer, Best Pickup 1970 and newer and Best Pickup 1969 and older.

Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 100 to register. Door prizes will be given away every 30 minutes.
Trophies will be presented at 3 p.m. Judges' decisions are final.

The Art in the Park is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chowning Art Shop, which is located at 502 N. Columbia Ave., Campbellsville, in the Turner Log Cabin Park.

Artists will be demonstrating such items as painting, and there will also be art for children to do.

The art shop, which is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be open until 4 p.m. for anyone to visit and purchase artwork.
