The Clinton Central Steel Band is in its fifth year of operation as an ensemble. The band was started by Kyle Duke in 2016 upon assuming the role of head band director at Clinton Central School Corporation, located just north of Indianapolis.

The band meets once a day as a class, plays various stand-alone performances throughout the year and at times collaborates with the CC Jazz Ensemble. This band is a community favorite and a unique ensemble for the central part of the state.

Duke is head of the Clinton Central School Corporation located in Michigantown, Ind. In 2008, he graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He continued his studies at Eastern Kentucky University, earning a Master's in Music Performance and a Master of Arts in Teaching.

While at EKU, Duke also taught classes in applied percussion and music theory. Upon graduating from EKU, Duke immediately assumed the role as assistant band director at Russell County High School in Kentucky. He taught four years before moving to Indiana.

Along with being an educator, Duke has also spent time aboard various cruise ships as a drummer for many of their onboard Big Bands.
