CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's School of Nursing will hold a Nursing Preview Day Saturday, March 7, in the School of Nursing building.

The preview day begins at 10:30 a.m. with registration and refreshments. The event is free and open to the public.

Beverly Rowland, interim dean of the School of Nursing, said the event will give prospective students an idea of what nursing school is all about and how they can get admitted to the CU School of Nursing.

“We want to help prospective students to understand the critical dates and qualifications for applying to the School of Nursing,” Rowland said.

“This will give these students an opportunity to have their questions answered and

to see the School of Nursing. We welcome the opportunity to share with the community information about nursing and nursing school.”

Rowland will give a welcome to nursing to those attending as will Dr. Frank Cheatham, vice president for academic affairs, who will discuss CU.

A student panel will discuss “What is Nursing School Like?” These students include: Amanda Arnold of Campbellsville and Corey Clarke, also of Campbellsville, both of the class of 2009, and Frankie Skaggs of Buffalo, Ky., and Catherine Srygler of Hodgenville, Ky., both of the class of 2010.

Dr. Mike Page, chair of the division of natural science and professor of biology, plus Brenda Tungate, assistant professor of biology, will give information concerning CU's science department.

Jennifer Richerson, secretary for the School of Nursing, will give an address on “How Do I Get into Nursing School?” and John Ellis, admissions counselor, will discuss “How Do I Get Admitted to the University?”

Chris Tolson, director of financial aid, will discuss how students pay for their nursing education.

Faculty, staff and students will lead small group tours of the School of Nursing building. Rhonda Vale, lab coordinator, will lead a clinical lab tour.
