CU plans ‘CU at the Maple Trail’ Alumni Day Feb. 23

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University will hold “CU at the Maple Trail,” an alumni event sponsored by the Board of Alumni, Saturday, Feb. 23.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. in the new Books n Beans located in the Bright-Redmon Student Commons inside Montgomery Library, 116 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

“The Board of Alumni wants alumni to enjoy visiting with friends and the CU family, and choose from a variety of fun events they can enjoy with their family,” Paula Smith, director of alumni relations, said.

Alumni will have a chance to reminisce about the “good ole days” at the “walk down memory lane” event. Alumni will have the opportunity to view old annuals and photos.

After “walking down memory lane,” alumni are invited to head over to the Student Activities Center (106 University Drive) for a carnival atmosphere, which includes popcorn and snow cones available for purchase along with face painting, photography, and other carnival games. There is a bounce house available for children as well.

The walk down memory lane and the carnival will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

When these events come to a close, Smith said another big event is starting up — senior night. The Tigers and Lady Tigers basketball teams are hosting St. Catharine College in Powell Athletic Center, 203 Tiger Way, Campbellsville. Come join students, parents and other Tiger fans as the cheer on the women's team at 2 p.m. and men's at 4 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for school-age students.

Two other alumni events include the Lady Tiger and Tiger Tennis Team who will host Tennessee Wesleyan at 11 a.m. on the CU Tennis Courts, on the corner of Chandler and Meader streets.

The university's theater department will present Shakespeare's “Much Ado About Nothing” at 7 p.m. in the Russ Mobley Theater in the Alumni Building, 114 University Drive, Campbellsville.

The Board of Alumni will be selling T-shirts with the CU at the Maple Trail logo. The sizes and prices are, children's $8 each, adult (S, M, L and XL) are $12 and (2XL and 3XL) will be $15 each with a portion of the profits going to the CU textbook fund.

Lunch options include: Winters Dining Hall - Saturday Brunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a $5 cost; Chick-fil-A® Express in Davenport Student Commons with hours 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Starbucks in Davenport Student Commons with hours 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Barnes and Noble College Bookstore with hours 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
