For Immediate Release

A ribbon cutting for the Bright-Redmon Commons and the Chowning Patio was held yesterday, Jan. 29, to open the Board of Trustees meeting at Campbellsville University. The Bright-Redmon Commons was made possible by a donation from George and Floydene Bright, fifth and fourth from right, respectively. The Chowning Patio was made possible by a donation from John Chowning, second from right, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president.

The Bright-Redmon Commons, located inside Montgomery Library, houses a lounge and study area for students as well as Books n Beans, a new coffee and snack shop. It is the newest improvement to Campbellsville University's campus and is a great area for all students, especially commuters. The Chowning Patio is at the new entrance to Montgomery Library which opens directly to the Bright-Redmon Commons and Books n Beans.

Books n Beans serves as an additional dining option for students, and is also open to the community. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday 7 p.m. to midnight. (Campbellsville University Photo by Linda Waggener)
