CU drama department to present ‘Enemy of the People’

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville University Theater and Town Hall Productions will be presenting “An Enemy Of The People” at the Russ Mobley Theater in the Alumni Building on campus at 114 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

“An Enemy of the People” was written by Henrik Ibsen and adapted by Arthur Miller. In this adaptation of the play, Dr. Thomas Stockmann is a small-town physician who realizes that the local tourist destination, a hot spring, is dangerously contaminated.
Thomas warns his brother Peter, the town's mayor; Peter, however, is more concerned with cashing in on the spring than ensuring public safety. In order to keep the spring open, Peter and the town council destroy Thomas' reputation as he tries to tell the public of his discovery.

The play will be performed on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2:30 p.m.

Sarah Durham of Campbellsville as Peter Stockmann; Tanner Reed of Campbellsville as Hovstad; Les Chadwick of Campbellsville as Dr. Stockmann;

Jackson Hays of Campbellsville as Morten; Hannah Hansford of Campbellsville as Ejlif;  Hollie Nall of Elizabethtown, Ky. as Captain Horster; Callie Botkin of Campbellsville as Petra; Erin Shainfeld of Lexington, Ky. as Aslaksen;

Cedric Calhoun of Frankfort, Ky. as The Drunk; Cody Campbell of LaGrange, Ky. as Nansen; Irell Patterson of Hopkinsville, Ky. as Edvard;

Tickets are available online at townhallpro.com. The tickets for general audience members cost $10. Tickets for seniors 65 and up, children 12 and under and Campbellsville University employees are $7. Campbellsville University students are admitted free.
