HARRODSBURG, Ky. - To accommodate the growing student population at the Conover Education Center in Harrodsburg for Campbellsville University, the university is adding a 4,500-square-foot building. The groundbreaking ceremony for this building took place recently.

The new building will include more classro

om space, offices and a multipurpose chapel.

The ceremony was held on site at 1150 Danville Road, Harrodsburg, Ky.

This was a small intimate setting with a larger dedication event to be held when the building is finished.

Wes Carter, executive director of University Outreach, welcomed the guests in attendance.

Special guest Scott Moseley, Harrodsburg city commissioner, showed his support for the education center. “This location helps give hope and opportunities to the community and the kids of Harrodsburg. We are excited to see what will come and what has come already,” Moseley said.

The addition to the education center was not originally planned, but with over 160 students enrolled in the spring more space become a necessity.

“Originally, we did not see this coming and this building was not in the plan, but God broke through those plans,” Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University, said.

“This project challenges the university to act in a quick and efficient manner. The university's faculty, staff and coaches have responded well.”

Dr. Carter expects many possibilities to arise from the education center.

“I see this center as a hope center - a place where hope is installed and dreams can come true,” Dr. Carter said.

The Conover Education Center offers undergraduate and graduate programs in general education, Christian studies and business administration as well as cosmetology and allied health certificate programs.
