DALLAS, TEXAS — Campbellsville University's sports information department claimed 10 Media and Publications Contests awards at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA) Convention, officials announced this week.

Campbellsville University earned 10 Top 6 honors with a second-place finish in the most Twitter followers earned from Sept. 15, 2015 to May 15, 2016. The @CvilleTigers handle has now reached 4,944 followers to date - the most followed athletics account in the NAIA.

Campbellsville also had several third-place finishes. The sports information office partnered with corporate sponsor Gerald Printing with poster and schedule card designs. Barry Arnold, lead graphic designer at Gerald Printing, and Jordan Alves, sports information director, designed the men's wrestling and football posters, while also teaming up with the football schedule card - all third place finishes.

In addition, CU also received third-place awards for the most Facebook likes and Instagram followers gained in 2015-16. To date, Campbellsville Tigers has 4,251 likes on Facebook, while Instagram (@CvilleTigers) has a following of 1,475 members.

“Congratulations to our sports information staff for being recognized by the NAIA and College Sports Information Directors of America for the quality of work they do on our campus every day,” said Rusty Hollingsworth, director of athletics. “Our staff works tirelessly, and many hours, covering the 28 teams we have in our athletics department. Kudos to Jordan Alves, Richard RoBards, Lindey Young and all the student assistants for a job well done.”

Hollingsworth said Twitter, Facebook and Instagram is the one place to find up-to-date information, scores, stories, photos and behind the scenes information for all 28 athletic programs.

Arnold and Alves continued to partner for projects throughout the 2015-16 year. The duo earned a fifth-place award in the multi-sport poster category that featured 2016 MSC Champions Tiger baseball and Lady Tiger softball.

Campbellsville University also earned a pair of sixth place awards in the fall sports schedule card and also the football media guide design and content.

The sports information department is led by Jordan Alves, sports information director; Richard RoBards, part-time sports information assistant; and, last year, Lindey Young, graduate assistant, and, for the upcoming year, Maggie Calvert as graduate assistant.

With the announcement of the NAIA-SIDA awards, Campbellsville University would also like to announce that it will be launching a new athletics website design and company July 7.

CU is partnering with SIDEARM Sports with the new design and content that allows fans, families and student-athletes an easier navigational site that is more user friendly. In 2013, www.campbellsvilletigers.com was ranked the 10th-best outsourced website in the NAIA. After the new launch, the domain name will remain https://www.campbellsvilletigers.com/.
