Campbellsville University vice president is transitional pastor at Stanford Baptist Church

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University announces Dr. G. Ted Taylor, vice president for university outreach at Campbellsville University, has extended a call to ministry as transitional pastor at Stanford Baptist Church in Stanford, Ky.

Taylor has served in pastoral roles for over 40 years in Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. Most recently, Taylor has served at First Baptist Church in London, Ky.

According to Jerry Wright, retired minister of music from First Baptist Church in London, “Dr. Ted Taylor served as transitional pastor at First Baptist Church, London beginning January 2016. He came to London, serving the church after the 28-year pastorate of Dr. Terry Lester.

“Dr. Taylor quickly endeared himself to the membership, where he provided consistent Biblical preaching and stability in worship leadership and was a trusted friend of the church members, leaders and staff. He led the staff while continuing to provide ministry to our membership within and through our members and our community.

“He served FBC London in this capacity through the end of May 2017. His primary focus through this time was to preach Jesus, to encourage faithfulness and to help prepare the church for the calling of their next pastor.

“Dr. Taylor encouraged the church to continue its many ministries reaching out to the surrounding community. It was a joy and privilege for our staff and members to work with Dr. Taylor and his wife, Sheri Taylor.”

Taylor has served at Campbellsville University for 25 years and holds degrees from the University of Tennessee, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Doctor of Education from the University of Memphis in Tennessee.
