Campbellsville University to present 9th Annual series of music organ recitals

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's 9th Annual Noon Organ Recital Series begins Tuesday, Sept. 13 in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky., with a performance by Kenneth Stein of Bowling Green, Ky.

The concerts begin at 12:20 p.m. and end at 12:50 p.m., in time for those working to come and go during their lunch hour.

The series, which is open to the public, provides organ music from the 1894 Farrand and Votey Organ in Ransdell Chapel which is enlarged to 51 ranks by Moeller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies.

One concert, on March 21, will be in Our Lady Perpetual Help Catholic Church on the church's 1875 Pomplitz Organ. The church is located beside Gosser Fine Arts Center, 210 University Drive, Campbellsville. The other concerts will be in Ransdell Chapel.

The list of concerts include: Sept. 13, Kenneth Stein, organist/choirmaster, Christ Episcopal Church, Bowling Green, Ky.;

Oct. 4 - Gabriel Evans, director of music ministries, Union Church, Berea, Ky.; Nov. 8, Glenna Metcalfe, organist, Broadway Baptist Church, Louisville, Ky.;

Feb. 7, 2017 - Brian Hunt, organist, assistant music director, Cathedral of Christ the King, Lexington, Ky.; March 21 - Jane Johnson, director of student affairs, University of Kentucky Lexington, Ky.; and

April 11 - Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, with faculty from the Campbellsville University School of Music.
