CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's Environmental Stewardship Awards Committee is sponsoring a colloquium in the Badgett Academic Support Center Banquet Hall, 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. There will be presentations from this year's Earth Stewardship Grant award winners.

Sigma Zeta and OR 110 Servant Project will be presenting a project that deals with establishing pollinator gardens/rain gardens at the local schools. With the help of Campbellsville University's Clay Hill Memorial Forest staff, they intend to bring awareness of the critical state of pollinators due to the use of pesticides and habitat loss.

Kappa Delta Pi, Academic Honor Society and the School of Education will be presenting a project that helps teachers understand the importance of environmental care in schools. Kappa Delta Pi would like to implement a professional development workshop for current Campbellsville University elementary and middle school science educators and current elementary and middle school teachers in local school districts.

To be eligible to win this grant the project should demonstrate a creative and sustainable solution to a campus, local or regional environmental issue. It must enhance local awareness regarding an environmental issue. The project should include an anticipated budget as well as a timeline for implementation and completion.

There will be two awards of $1,500 each given to groups that provide a sustainable environmental proposal and two awards of $1,000 each, divided from an individual $500 award and department represented award of $500.

Students who attend will receive convocation credit. All are invited to attend.
