For Immediate Release

Paxton Bloyd, age 5, son of Cheslee and Jamie Ennis Bloyd and grandson of Campbellsville University Associate Professor of Education Beverly Ennis, was diagnosed with Stage IV Burkitt's lymphoma in March 2014. Burkitt's Lymphoma is a type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

The “Paxton Strong” effort was created to encourage people to pray for Paxton and his family. People such as country music singer George Strait, the original “Incredible Hulk” Lou Ferrigno, the Kentucky State Senate, and basketball players from the University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University are just some of the supporters of the effort.

Student-athletes from CU came together on Monday, April 7 to offer up their prayers and show support for the effort as well.
