CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Always striving to broaden her horizons, Campbellsville University has stretched her wings and touched down in India.

Vice President for Communication and Assistant to the President Dr. H. Keith Spears, and professors Dr. Eric Harter and Dr. Anil Palla travelled to Hyderabad, India this past weekend to see the start of the Freedom Cricket Tournament.

Campbellsville University sponsors the tournament, which has 16 teams and will continue for an eight-week period.

“CU has a significant number of students and alumni from Hyderabad,” Spears said. “This was a great way to show our community support and share the mission of our university in India.”

Club sport teams will be competing against one another on amateur cricket fields in Hyderabad. Shirts, trophies and signage display the CU logo.

“Cricket is the India past time. Our support for the game resonates with our students and spreads our name across the southern India region,” Palla said.

“I cannot express how much we appreciate professor Anil Palla, who coordinated our sponsorship. His ideas and understanding of our international students are key to success,” Spears said.
