Campbellsville University promotes Scott Erwin to senior designated school official and creative manager

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Prescott (Scott) Jay Erwin, who has been employed with Campbellsville University since 2017, has been promoted to senior designated school official (DSO) and creative manager for Campbellsville University-Louisville.

Erwin's new role is a hybrid collaborative position that serves the university's communication interests, with special attention to the Graduate Business Programs, while maintaining an active role in the Office of International Student Services (OISS).

In Erwin's new position, he is the creative manager and brand champion for CU-Louisville ensuring the integrity of the CU brand in all its uses, in house and in public.

Peter Thomas, director of international affairs and principal designated school official,

who supervises Erwin, said, “Scott collaborates across the university to support consistent, well-defined communications, analyze brand perception, plan and implement strategies to improve perception and monitor the achievement of brand objectives.

“As senior DSO and part of the OISS management team, Scott focuses on communication, administration and education to promote the university's mission: the success of all students, international and domestic.”

Erwin began his professional journey with Campbellsville University in 1980 as an art student when it was still Campbellsville College. While working as the staff artist work-study intern in the Office of Alumni and Public Relations on the main campus, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Art and transitioned into a 20-year career as a designer and art director.

For 17 years, Erwin served concurrently as a bi-vocational minister in worship and pastoral leadership before accepting the call to full-time pastoral ministry. During this 18-year pastorate, he returned to his alma mater to earn a Master of Theology degree in Biblical Studies. He also attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

In 2017, he began teaching part-time at CU-Louisville in the School of Theology.

In 2019, he joined a church planting team in Louisville and began another career as a designated school official (DSO) at CU-Louisville. While working as a DSO, he developed a rapport with his teammates and with international students, which developed into to a new role in 2019 as senior advocate for international education.

Erwin is married to Nikki Brumback Erwin, who serves as marriage and family therapy clinical director/lead professor of marriage and family ministries at Campbellsville University Louisville. They have two sons: Joshua and Jordan.

Erwin is the son of Jay and Barbara Erwin and John and Helen Gorbandt.
