CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University is moving to a new level with the offering of a Ph.D. program in fall 2017, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president.

Carter said the university's Ph.D. in Management will be the first doctoral program offered by Campbellsville University, and is an “exciting and historic moment for Campbellsville University and the mission of Christian higher education.”

Carter said Campbellsville University officials received notification June 15 that the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Colleges (SACSCOC), the university's accrediting agency, granted the university a level change.

The university moves to a Level 5 Institution and was granted approval to begin offering the Ph.D. in Management program as of the fall 2017 semester.

Dr. Donna Hedgepath, who recently had the title provost added to her vice president for academic affairs position, said, “I am thrilled to have reached this benchmark at Campbellsville University. This is only a first. Campbellsville University will be introducing more doctoral programs in the future.”

Carter said he is grateful for the hard work and resolve of Campbellsville University faculty and staff in bringing the university to this crucial apex. “This Ph.D. in management is a comprehensive approach that will allow students to design a program that meets their needs,” he said.

Specializations will be offered including leadership/management, human resource management and cyber technology management.

Applications are now being accepted for the August 2017 cohort and the January 2018 cohort.

Dr. Pat Cowherd, dean of the School of Business, Economics and Technology, said, “The Ph.D. in Management will provide students an opportunity to earn a doctorate degree related to management, leadership, or technology at a Christ-centered institution.”

She said the School's members are very excited about offering the institution's first Ph.D. program at Campbellsville University.

“This will be another milestone in the life of Campbellsville University,” she said.
