Campbellsville University art professors  to hold exhibit through Jan. 25

Campbellsville University is hosting a Faculty Art Exhibit in The Pence-Chowning Art Gallery, 205 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky., through Friday, Jan. 25. Everyone is invited to the free exhibit.

William Morse, the new chair of the Department of Art and Design, will display art work along with Davie Reneau, Azucena “Susie” Trejo Williams and Taren Morse and adjunct instructors Cora Renfro and Henrietta Scott.

Morse, who became chair of the department upon the retirement of Linda J. Cundiff in December, is an associate professor of art.

Morse graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Advertising and a Master of Science in Art. He also received a Master of Fine Arts in 3D Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

He has his Masters Certification from Sessions School of Design in New York and studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Morse has studied under many DreamWorks and Disney artist and animators in the industry including both Paul Alvarado and Phil Morris who worked on the Disney films “Lilo and Stitch,” “Milan,” “Brother Bear,” “The Lion King” and “Pocahontas.”

Reneau, associate professor of art, will showcase pots that she has made. Reneau graduated from West Virginia University with a Master in Fine Arts in Ceramics, a Bachelor Degree for Fine Arts in Ceramics with an art history minor from Western Kentucky University.

Reneau was one of four Americans chosen to participate in the Mashiko International Ceramics Festival in Mashiko, Japan in 2006. She has over 24 years of experience in art and focuses most of her artwork in ceramics.

Trejo Williams, assistant professor of art and design, will have some of her art work on display.

Trejo Williams is an interdisciplinary artist working in installation, photography, video and sound. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism, and a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art at Maryland Institute College of Art with post-baccalaureate coursework in art and art education from Campbellsville University.

Trejo Williams' experience in photography spans over 20 years including a career as a photojournalist and a photo editor in various national newspapers.

Her artwork has been exhibited across the United States including the Downing Museum in Bowling Green. Trejo Williams serves on the Patrons of the Visual Arts Board at Campbellsville University.

Taren Morse, new assistant professor of art, graduated from Sterling College with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and a Master of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Academy of Art University. She was an art professor at Williams Baptist University from 2015 until 2018.

Others whose work will be on display are adjunct instructors Cora Renfro and Henrietta Scott showcasing watercolors.
